Prayers Please!

A new baby Benjamin is on the way!

Please pray for me and my littlest one.

I'm only six weeks into my pregnancy and this is where all the important stuff gets formed.

In my prayer life, I feel like a bad short order cook. I'm all like:

"God,

I don't want my new baby to copy Baby Joey's heart, or Baby Ishmel's missing ears, or Baby Sky's ruptured placenta....."

I'm not exactly a Carmelite girl full of trust this week.

It's a good thing God works with the lowly!

Wow - Congratulations! I prayed each day to St. Catherine of Siena and the Blessed Mother during my twin pregnancy. We also lit candles each week at church. They did GREAT! (And they have middle names from these 2 wonderful saints!)

Congratulations! Both times I've moved I've come up pregnant within weeks.

I'll be praying for you and baby and all the Benjamins. But I have a special prayer request to make of you too.

Just before I bounced here I was checking my email and saw the newest comment on this post: Posted by Holly on Saturday, Aug 6, 2011 9:19 PM (EDT):

I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and suffering from severe HG. I am so weak I can’t even stand up long enough to shower. I have so much guilt because I can’t take care of my 2 year old. All I can do is just lay down on the ground next to her while she plays. I have been hospitalized and fed through IV and now I have to have someone take me every day or two to get an IV because I can’t eat or drink. I wanted to get pregnant really bad and sadly I have been considering ending this pregnancy because I don’t know if I can do it anymore. I am glad that I read this article because it gave me support and although I am sad that other women go through this it made me feel like I am not alone.

I always pray for moms suffering from hyperemesis and especially for those who lost the battle and aborted their babies because they were so sick and lost hope. But I'm not a very good prayer. Abby, would you join me in adding Holly and all the others to your intentions during your pregnancy? I can't help but think the juxtaposition of her comment and your post wasn't a coincidence.
