I had a funny moment when I took Tess to her nine month check-up today. In the checklist for "social development" there was a question "Does your nine month old child wave bye-bye?"
"No, she doesn't" I thought with a start. "Is there something wrong with Tess?"
Then I remembered why...
I never, ever leave this kid. She's always with me. Baby Tess hasn't ever had the chance to learn how to wave "bye bye" because her Mama never leaves the front door without her!

LOL! I love it! We wave bye bye to everyone. Daddy, the mail man, the grocery store clerk...everyone! Perhaps that enthusiasm isn't quite as strong with #4! I'm so glad you're with your baby 24/7!!!
Lauren, that is funny… My fourteen month old barely ever waves bye-bye, because by number eight, we are just too worn out to teach the kid anything at all!! What a difference twenty years and eight kids make! ha ha!
I so relate. My baby slept literally on top of one of us here whole life. Why the need to say bye bye when Mommy or Daddy are ALWAYS THERE?!
Hello! Toddler Adorable finally learned it when she watched another kid say it to his mother!
Ha! I thought that was funny beyond funny.
Oh my gosh, Leila, I was thinking the same thing.
I've left Drew countless times; I work five days a week.
Still, he just BARELY started waving bye-bye. Why? Because his daddy HAPPENED to teach him one night when I was away.
(Like it's a developmental milestone or something! Doctors, LOL!)
this is so true!
