What Excuse NOT to Love are You Going to Stop Using This Lent

Advice from the Franciscan Friars at Friday Mass last week. That quote hit me in the heart. I'm going to stop saying "I''m 37 weeks pregnant!" I'm actually trying my best to keep up on all my mothering tasks despite having a huge belly. Shockingly I'm a) in a better mood and b) have more energy then when I used my pregnancy as an excuse to retreat to the couch the second my husband walked in the door.

I agree...I've toned my tude down a lot since I started saying, "Sew, it's your job!" :)

I'm inspired by All You Who Hope's post as well. My personalized mantra is "Don't sit down!" Because I used to retreat in a heap on the couch and watch bad Netflix videos as soon as my husband came home from work. My 'tude was "I'm a tired princess and I'm entitled to be waited on for a bit!"

Ha.. As I read this I thought, "If I was pregnant, all bets would be off!" ;) You are definitely awesome to have such a selfless attitude!

Carey, I had a vicious time of fighting with my husband last week. Yesterday, while nesting, I found my old journals. Every single time I hit the 8.5 month pregnancy mark, with every single baby, we got in the exact same fight.

I turned into the whining "entitled princess" because of my pregnancy "excuse" and turned into a total jerk.

If we ever get blessed with another baby, I'm totally marking this time on the calendar!

In the meantime, I'm convinced that pregnancy is just like any other time. We've got to do our best to cheerfully serve our husbands and our children despite massive internal grumpiness in our own souls!

Very true. A goal of mine for sure, but I'm so, so not there yet!
