Colic is Not a Bad Way to Work off My Long Purgatory Debt

A dear Carmelite friend called me today. It seems my remarks about my "Miss Chili Pepper" has everyone worried about me. My youngest is very cute, which helps so much. Colic is not as bad as other Carmelite fasts and sacrifices!
Update: Then my friend sent me proof positive that infant reflux is equal to a good Carmelite fast. This blog post is good read for anyone suffering with their child in the same way.

She is precious and not even newborn like anymore!!

Really, she's not a newborn?

She's not even 10 pounds yet at 7 weeks, which is smaller than most of my older children's birth weight. She seems so small and delicate to me.

I LOVE THIS ARTICLE. There are so few family members like this. This man, if he joins a community, already KNOWS so much MORE than the typical aspirant.

We do not have to cast off the world and live in a monastery to find God. He awaits us where we are AT. And, the family is the supreme place of sacrifice to be sure.

LOVE the hospitality you are offering to your son's fellow first communicants. I laughed when you wrote they all have newborns so you offered to host!!!

You have a colicky newborn!!!!!

Girl, you inspire me. You know the Christian Witness of Hospitality....

Joann,

I hadn't thought about the irony of offering to host a First Communion party right now. It's one of those God multiplying things. I was going to throw a party anyway for my son, and its actually easier to host 3 little boys, than one.

We should write a post together about the witness of Christian Hospitality. St Elizabeth Seton would be so proud!
